A Senior Civil Engineering Technician is a skilled professional who applies technical knowledge and experience to develop, manage, and assess civil engineering solutions. Working under the guidance of engineers, they contribute to live projects by designing, testing, and implementing solutions – often using specialist software and digital tools. Senior technicians also play a key role in ensuring projects meet industry standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
On this Level 4 apprenticeship, you will begin to build the core knowledge, skills and behaviours required to progress into this senior-level role. You will explore a wide range of civil engineering and construction topics, laying the foundation for advanced study at Level 5 or for entering the workplace with confidence and technical competence.
- Through a mix of practical, research-based and scenario-led learning, you will develop an understanding of key areas such as materials science, structural design, geotechnics, mathematics, and digital construction methods.
