As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to engineers and construction professionals as you work and collaborate in the design, development, construction, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of built environments and infrastructure projects. You will develop high levels of skill in areas which include sustainable construction, structural integrity, geotechnics, materials, tunnelling, marine and coastal engineering, water, waste management, flood management, transportation and power.
Acquiring highly specialised and technical skills as a Civil Engineering Technician, you will become adept at scoping project delivery plans, producing models, reports and calculations to aid effective project implementation. You will contribute to the effective delivery of live infrastructure projects, managing work schedules, budgets and deadlines, whilst ensuring outputs comply with industry specifications and standards.
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, you will be able to register with the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician.

You will develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours through on and off-the-job training and are expected to attend our specialist Civil Engineering Training Centre (CETC) on a day release basis.
